Jeff Karlson’s introduction to Cape Cod started in 1952 when his family began vacationing in East Orleans. In 1978, after completing college and service in the U.S. Navy, he decided to call Cape Cod home.
Jeff’s career in residential building began when he took the initiative to build a house on speculation. Its successful execution was followed by the construction of a series of single-family home developments of up to 8 houses each. After a few years, Jeff received requests to build custom homes and his business took a new direction.
Experience has shaped Jeff’s extensive knowledge of the various processes involved in construction. With over 25 years of experience in facilitating financing and handling permitting processes, Jeff stands apart from his peers. Both his residential and commercial projects have strengthened his ability to handle the ins and outs of dealing with Conservation, Historic and Building commissions, as well as other boards and departments. For years he volunteered his time to serve on various boards, such as the Architectural Review board, Site Plan Review board, and the By-Law Task Force which provided him with an insider’s view of the permitting processes. Complementing his pragmatic side, Jeff’s creative sensibility enables him to contribute imaginative and inspirational pieces that may be missing from your home building plans.
Jeff’s wife, Trisha Daly-Karlson, is the owner of The Real Estate Company and The Rental Company. Mark is the man on the street for The Building Company, Inc. As the project manager he overseess the daily aspects of construction from foundation to finish. Mark brings a range of experience from finance, permitting, regulatory and management to the building process.
Before moving to the Cape, Mark was the owner and manager of a medical device company in the aesthetic surgery market which provided him vast experience in personnel and project management that he utilizes today. Mark also has a strong background in marketing and finance with a High Technology MBA from Northeastern University. He has strong building regulatory background from years as member and chairman of the Orleans Board of Appeals. His previous building experience includes speculative remodeling focused on high-end properties.
Mark is an active member of the Lower Cape community. He is involved with sailing at the Orleans Yacht Club, the Boy Scouts of America as member of the Cape and Island Council Board of Directors, and is the Orleans Representative to the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates. Mark enjoys the Cape and works hard to make it a great place for all who are fortunate enough to call the Cape home.
